TenCate TC380 Toughened epoxy OOA / VBO fabric prepreg and UD tape
Delivers a unique combination of high impact resistance, superior hot / wet performance and open hole compressive strength that allows the design of highly efficient aircraft structures.
TenCate E732 Toughened snap cure fabric prepreg
Achieves a full Tg of 170°C (338°F) in 4 minutes at 160°C (320°F), developed specifically for press mold processing. Ideal for high volume industrial applications.
In addition, we showcased TenCate AmberTool® HXR series, a multi-axial composite tooling prepreg which significantly reduces layup time while maintaining the easy handling of single ply tooling prepregs. The HXR series has been specifically designed to facilitate complex tool construction while allowing efficient lay-up, reducing the overall tooling costs.
TenCate Cetex® TC1225 is a next generation PAEK family development, that delivers high performance mechanical strength while allowing lower processing temperatures for aerospace applications.
This system can be overmolded with PEEK for fine details which enables form freedom and cost effective part consolidation in the highest performance applications.
Available in carbon-based UD tape, RTL laminates and semi-preg fabric formats.
> Compression After Impact (CAI) 41 ksi (282 MPa)
> Improved processing temperature with good high temperature performance
> Suitable for overmolding with PEEK to achieve hybrid part consolidation
> Ideal for structural applications
TenCate TC380 delivers a unique combination of impact resistance and open hole compressive strength that allows for the design of highly efficient aircraft structure.

> Low tack for easy lay-up
At the JEC we showcased our TenCate AmberTool® HXR series, a multi-axial format of our heritage AmberTool® range which significantly reduces lay-up time, while maintaining the easy handling of single ply tooling prepregs.
This series has been specifically designed to facilitate complex tool construction while allowing efficient lay-up, reducing overall tooling costs.
Benefits:
> Rapid 1-4-1 lay-up, reduced debulks in comparison to standard lay-ups
> Intrinsically quasi-isotropic
> Pliable at ambient temperatures
> Excellent surface finish
TU Delft achieved first place in the inaugural SpaceX Hyperloop Competition Weekend, January 27-29, 2017. In addition they won the award for best construction and design. The Delft Hyperloop pod was the first to be designed using carbon fiber composites.
On display was the Delft Hyperloop pod. TenCate was proud to have been a materials sponsor. TenCate's 8020 series of epoxy prepreg, film adhesive and honeycomb core were utilized in the manufacture of the pod’s monocoque.
> 4.5 metres long
> 0.8 metres in diameter
> Strong yet lightweight, pod weighing only 149 kg
WHERE MATERIALS MEET INNOVATION
The Hyperloop concept, coined in 2013, was described as the “fifth mode of transportation”, combining the convenience of rail with the speed of air travel. The SpaceX Hyperloop pod competition has an ethos of sharing knowledge and promoting partnership and innovation.
TenCate Cetex® TC950 TW1000 Carbon / glass twill weave PMMA pigmented gold was used to manufacture the special edition cleats.
Advantages:
> Built for multi-directional movement
> Enables efficient forward propulsion
> Simultaneously disperses upward pressure throughout the forefoot
> Reduces impact
> Optimizes performance on the field
Did you know that TenCate's Cetex thermoplastic composites were on the first Nike Air Jordan's? Since then, millions of high end athletic shoes use TenCate's materials in the inner and outer sole for torsional rigidity and comfort.
TenCate Cetex® TC920 carbon PC/ABS was selected by Hewlett Packard to achieve a light weight, thin profile and to dissipate heat when in operation on a user’s lap.
> Weighs only 1.1 kg (2.45 lb)
> The world's thinnest laptop at 10.4 mm overall thickness
> Inherently fire retardant, meeting UL-94 V0 standards without secondary fire retardant fillers
> Dissipates heat
> Lightweight yet impact resistant
